Launch teaser
How do I make a short launch video for my app?
The Balanced shape is built for it. A hook card over a filmed moment, two proof lines, three app screens, then the name on an end card. About 12 seconds, vertical, ready for the launch post on Reels, TikTok, Shorts or X. The first one is free. Make four hooks from the same footage and post the best.
How it is built
| Shape | Opens on | Caption lines | App screens | Hook styles |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Balanced | A hook card over a filmed moment | 2 | 3 | Claim, Curiosity, Offer |
You get
- Hook, proof, product, name. The order launch clips use
- Three app screens cut through with motion
- An end card with the app name and one line
- Four hook variants from the same footage
You don't get
- Anything longer than 12 seconds
- Sound. Silent by default, add the track when you post
- A store preview. Stores want the real app
Launch teaser for Tidepool, a swell forecast app for surfers. Claim hook. Open at dawn in the car park, phone up, checking the swell. Screens: this morning's window, the week, spot detail.
Describe the app and the video you want. First one is free.

Questions people ask
How long should a launch video be?
Under 15 seconds for a feed, and the first second matters most. Longer cuts belong on the store page or a landing page, where people arrived on purpose. A 12-second vertical is the version that gets watched to the end.
Should the app name be in the hook?
Usually. The planner puts the product name in the hook line by default, and the end card repeats it. If the hook lands and the name does not, the view was wasted.
Can I use the same video on the App Store?
No. Apple wants footage of the app in use at 886 x 1920 for current iPhones, and this is 1080 x 1920 with a filmed open. Post it on social and make the store preview from a screen recording. The specs.
