How do I make a video for an app that doesn't exist yet?

Describe the app in a sentence and choose Generate for the screens. You get a 12-second vertical clip with the opening moment filmed and the app screens drawn from your description. Nothing has to exist. Post it, watch what happens, and change the angle in chat if it does not land.

How it is built

BalancedA hook card over a filmed moment23Claim, Curiosity
About 12 seconds, 1080 x 1920, silent by default. All formats.

You get

  • Screens drawn from your description, in the app's own colours
  • A filmed opening moment, generated to match
  • A new angle in minutes, so you can test five and keep one
  • First video free, download included

You don't get

  • Screens that match the UI you build later
  • Anything longer than 12 seconds
  • A store listing. Stores want the real app on screen
A brief that works
Sprout, an app that turns grocery receipts into a weekly meal plan. Open on a tired parent scanning a receipt at the kitchen counter. Screens: scan, this week's plan, shopping list.

Describe the app and the video you want. First one is free.

Questions people ask

Can I make an app video with no screenshots?

Yes. Switch the screens setting to Generate and say what they should show. MEGA Pudu draws three to five screens that fit the description, seeded from the same still as the opening clip, so the whole video looks like one product.

Is a video a good way to test an app idea?

It is the cheapest test there is. A 12-second clip forces you to say the one thing the app does, and posting it tells you whether anyone wants that before you build. Dropbox did the same with a short video and a waitlist before the product worked.

Can I use the generated screens later?

As a reference, yes. As your UI, no. They are pictures of a plausible app, not a design file, and they will not match what you ship. When the real screens exist, upload them and re-render.
